QCON carefully considers the energy performance of a home prior to and during the building of new homes. We review and make recommendations on energy conservation and eco-friendly sustainable systems in order to keep energy costs to a minimum.
We work closely with Ashgrove Renewables, a leading supplier of renewable energy technologies including solar panels, underfloor heating, water harvesting, heat recovery ventilation (HRV) and geothermal pumps.
Energy auditing and reporting is completed at each stage of a new home build. This is initially based on the house drawings, reassessed and confirmed as the build progresses. A final audit and report is produced following completion. Based on your house plans and with consideration given to proposed intended heating systems, controls and implementation, we can estimate the cost of providing heating and hot water for the dwelling. Further to this a range of proposals are made to upgrade the dwelling with the associated savings in running costs calculated.
Where a specific energy rating is required, we can identify the specifications required to achieve this. Please note that this is done in an impartial manner. A Building Energy Rating certificate is compulsory for new homes and is carried out by a specially trained BER assessor and registered by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI). This process is facilitated by QCON.
