There are two major questions that QCON asks when discussing a new extension or renovation with its clients. Is the family moving out of the home and what is the function or expectation of the completed work? If the family is staying in the home a full logistical co-ordination program is drawn up and agreed. If the family is moving temporarily, a very tight construction program must be agreed in order to reinstate the family as quickly as possible.
Work on an existing home is a sensitive area as the client knows every detail of their own home and can be uncomfortable with major construction work taking place.
Work in this category may include:
- Attic conversion
- Garage conversion
- Window and door replacement
- Re-fit interior and redesign kitchen or bathroom layout
- Full living space extension (bedrooms bathrooms)
- Alterations for elderly family members
- Improvements in the heating, insulation and efficiency of the home
We also have a wide range of experience in the renovation and extension of old cottages and farmhouses. The team at QCON will design, detail and cost various options. With our engineering knowledge, we can determine the efficiency of moving structural members in the building to create open plan space, larger room sizes and generally bringing the old dwelling up to modern living standards and expectations.
